«We were being attacked in Venice until 2 minutes from the end, and we played the game we wanted to. We were very good because, especially in the first half with Reyer shooting with a good percentage, we continued to play our basketball. Having played for around 40 minutes, we were always united and after making some adjustments at the interval, we were rewarded in the third quarter. At that point, we mounted two or three consecutive attacks that would have enabled us to stretch ahead with a major advantage but we missed some shots that allowed Umana to get back into the game. And, in a neck and neck final, the game was then decided by sporadic events. I’m very happy with the game that was played by my team – we proved that we were able to compete as equals right up to the end with the second in the rankings. And this fills us with pride and enhances everything we have done in the second half of the season. Today, there could have been many difficulties but, once again, my team has proven that it has made a lot of progress. It’s a team made up of players with a high degree of professionalism who, both in training and on court during matches, continue to demonstrate their worth».
