Daniele Cavaliero grew up with Pallacanestro Trieste, with which he had his debut in the Serie A in 1999, when he was only 15 years old. In the following 4 seasons in Friuli Venezia Giulia, his performance improved consistently and he ended the 2003/2004 season with an average of 7.8 points and 2 assists. These results, added to his European experience accumulated in the 12 Eurocup games played in 2002/2003, drew the attention of the Milan club, which signed him up. His adventure with Olimpia lasted a little more than a year: after reaching the 2004/2005 championship finals and after his debut in the Euroleague, in January 2006 he moved to Roseto to play with the former white-and-red player Daniel Callahan. Then he moved to Fortitudo Bologna, averaging 4.2 points in 13 minutes in the championship and 3,5 points in the Euroleague. On 20th November 2007, after playing 9 games with the Bologna team, he was enrolled by Avellino. His initial experience with this team was extraordinary: he won the Italian Basketball Cup and reached the playoff semifinals and qualification to the Euroleague with 5.2 points and more than 2 assists per game. Then, he moved to the Marche region, where he stayed for 5 seasons playing with Montegranaro and Pesaro, with which he reached another playoff semifinal. In 2013/2014, he returned to the Avellino club, which confirmed his contract also for the following season (6.5 points and 2 assists in 18 minutes) and appointed him team captain. A strong point/shooting guard, skilled in managing the game pace, and good at three-point shooting, since 2005 he has been involved in the National Team, with which he participated in the qualification for the 2009 and 2013 European Championships.
