Attracting a great deal of interest since High School, Damian Hollis chose to develop his career in basketball at George Washington University after receiving over 200 offers from American universities. When he left college in 2010, he began his career as a professional in Europe, first with the Belgians at Viviers-Pepinstar and then later in Hungary. He wore the Alba Fehérvár jersey for three seasons, amassing a series of impressive stats and won the championship and the Hungarian Cup in the last season. In 2013, he arrived in Biella, Italy (DNA Gold), and totalled up 18 points and 6.5 rebounds, contributing to the victory of the Coppa Italia LNP (26 points in the final) and the recovery of the Piedmont team after the relegation of the previous year. After completing his stint at Biella, Hollis reached a contractual agreement with Cantù for the 2014/15 season (5.5 points, 3.9 rebounds in the championship, 8 points and 3.4 rebounds in the Eurocup) and closed the season in Greece with AGO Rethymo reaching 6 points and 4 rebounds. In the summer of 2015, he returned to Italy to the ambitious Brescia with whom he focused on the promotion to Serie A as leading player with 17 points and 7.5 rebounds with 55% 2-pointers and 39% 3-pointers. In the last season he played with Benfica, the team with whom he won the Portuguese championship (14 points and 5.6 rebounds), and also took part in the FIBA Basketball Champions League (16 points and 7.5 rebounds) and then at the FIBA Europe Cup (17.6 points and 5.7 rebounds). His father, Essie Hollis played in the NBA and in Europe and he was nicknamed ‘King Damian’ by the Hungarian fans. He won a silver at the U19 World Cup in Serbia in 2007.
