NEW SIGNING FOR VARESE. ANTHONY MORSE

Varese Basketball is pleased to announce the signing of Anthony Morse, a 203 cm centre from the USA, weighing in at 103 kg. He has signed a contract that will keep him at the Red & White’s club until the end of the 2020-2021 season. Morse wore an Imola jersey last year in A2, being one of the best players of the tournament because of the 18 points and over 7 rebounds on average he managed to tally up. This is his first stint in Serie A.

Anthony Keith Morse trained at Tennessee Tech University where he scored almost 8 points, 6 rebounds and 2 blocks on average per game in his final year. After completing his studies, he transferred to Europe, first wearing an Atomeromu jersey in Hungary and then a Braunschweig jersey in Germany in the 2017-2018 season, where he showed off his qualities with 6.2 points and 4.8 rebounds per game. He moved on to Italy, to Mantua in the following year. He exploded onto the stage in A2 with a season of 13.2 points and more than 10 rebounds on average (the best in the East Round) in 30 regular season played games, being one of the decisive players in his team’s play-offs. Last season, he signed for Imola. Prior to the suspension of the championship due to Covid-19, wearing an Andrea Costa jersey he was leader with 18 points and 7.3 rebounds on average in the season.
