GREAT SUCCESS OF THE MEETING WITH BOB MORSE AT THE INSUBRIA UNIVERSITY

Yesterday, Tuesday, May 14, Bob Morse met university students and basketball fans in the auditorium of the Insubria University in Varese. Under the leadership of Professor Fabio Minazzi, President and Professor of the Decree Course in Communication Sciences, the event enjoyed a large turnout of both students and basketball fans, as well as people who were so lucky as to have seen the Philadelphia forward (fourth in the absolute ranking of top scorers, with 9,785 points scored in the A League) play live in the good old days when Varese shone both in Italy and in Europe.

bob_morse_cattedra_insubria_1415_2Prompted by the questions posed by professional photographer Carlo Meazza and journalists Claudio Piovanelli and Enrico Minazzi, Bob Morse, who currently teaches Italian literature at the Saint Mary’s College in Indiana, talked about the formidable seasons he played with Varese, and specifically dwelled on the relationship between US and Italian basketball at that time, sharing the expectations and hopes with which a young Penn State University graduate landed in Italy to find a country and a baseball style that were totally unknown to him.

Several VIP’s attended the meeting, including the mayor (and lawyers) Mr. Attilio Fontana, Toto Bulgheroni, Max Ferraiuolo, Matteo Jemoli, Marino Zanatta and Gianmarco Pozzecco.
