BRANDON DAVIES: A NEW ENTRY IN PALLACANESTRO VARESE

Pallacanestro Varese has reached an agreement with Brandon Davies. Center from the USA, born in 1991, Davies signed a one-year contract to play with the white-and-red club until the end of the 2015/2016 sport season. A dangerous player both from the inside and from the outside, with excellent passing skills, in the last season, which he started in the NBA with the Brooklyn club, he played with Élan Chalon in the French championship, averaging 8 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.3 assists.

He grew up in Provo (Utah) and started playing basketball when he was in high school in his city, contributing to the team victory in his Sophomore and Junior years. When he finished his studies, he decided to play with the Brigham Young University team and soon became a key player for the playing strategies of the Cougars. In fact, for two years in a row, he was nominated to the All-West Coast Conference Team thanks to his increasingly good performance (17.7 points and 8 rebounds in his senior year). When he ended his university career, Davies was invited to participate in the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament, where he was appointed MVP thanks to his statistics - 20.7 points and 9.3 rebounds, - which brought him closer and closer to the NBA, a target that he achieved on 28th October 2013, when he signed up with the Philadelphia 76ers. In a little more than a year with the Sixers, he played as many as 71 games, reaching his personal career-high (20 points) in the game lost (89-91) against the Chicago team. After a short period with the Brooklyn Nets (7 games), he landed in Europe where he played with Élan Chalon. His season in France ended with 8 points, 4.1 rebounds, 1.3 assists in 20.2 minutes.
