NICCOLÒ DE VICO, NEW OPENJOBMETIS SIGNING

Varese Basketball is pleased to announce the signing of Niccolò De Vico who will wear an Openjobmetis jersey until the end of the 2021-2022 season. Wing, class of 1994, comes to the ‘Garden City’ after his time in Serie A with Reggio Emilia (2017 to 2019) and Cremona (last year). *«I am very happy and excited to come to Varese, a significant team and a historical basketball location* –**his first words**-. *I can’t wait to get started and play for the Red & White’s fans, who are more excited than ever»*. Born in Monza on 19 July 1994, De Vico grew up in the Biella Basketball youth sector, a team with whom he made his début in the top league in 2010 and won the LNP Coppa Italia in 2014. He became captain of the Piedmontese team in 2016 and helped to pull it towards the category play-offs with 12 points (41% 2-pointers and 36% 3-pointers) and 4 rebounds on average, stats that he managed to improve in the 5 post-season games (more than 15 points and 5 rebounds per game). His efficiency rating did not go unnoticed in Serie A, so much so that he is called up by Reggio Emilia who secures him with a two-year agreement (with an option for a third and fourth season). In two years, wearing a Grissin Bon jersey, he tallies up 5.5 points on average in 17.7 minutes of play. He moved to Cremona on 10 July 2019, onto the court of Meo Sacchetti. It was precisely against Varese that he played his best game in terms of points on 21 December 2019: 14 in 18′ with 75% 2-pointers and 40% 3-pointers.
