OPENJOBMETIS: JEVOHN SHEPHERD ENROLLED

Pallacanestro Openjobmetis Varese has reached an agreement with Jevohn Shepherd. A forward from Canada with a Jamaican passport, Shepherd has signed a one-year contract to play with the white-and-red club until the end of the 2015/2016 sport season. Born in 1986 in Toronto, this athlete comes from Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto, a LegaDue Gold team with which he played a season as a protagonist.

Career:

After graduating from the University of Michigan in 2009, his professional career started with Halifax Rainmen, a Canadian team in the PBL championship. In the summer of 2010, he moved to Europe, where he first played with the German Osnabruck and then, since March 2011, with the Frankfurt team. Appointed as MVP in the second championship in Germany, in 15 games played in Frankfurt he scored 4.7 points, recovering 2.1 rebounds on average. After his experiences in Holland and Rumania with Leiden (winner of the Dutch Cup) and Steaua respectively, he moved to Italy to play with Fulgor Omegna (A2 Silver). During the season with the red-and-green club, his physical potential and technical skills blossomed completely: 18.6 points, 6 rebounds, 2.3 assists, shooting 58% of two-pointers and 37% of three-pointers. In the last championship, he played with Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto totaling 17.4 points, 5.2 rebounds, 1.8 assists with 1.2 recoveries in 37 minutes.

Recruited by the Canadian National team, he contributed to winning the bronze medal at the 2007 World University Games and later participated in the 2010 World Championship.
