PALLACANESTRO VARESE HAS ENROLLED MOUHAMMAD FAYE

Pallacanestro Varese has enrolled Mouhammad Faye. The athlete from Dakar signed an agreement to play with the white-and-red club until the end of the current sport season. Born in 1985, very impactful in defense, this power forward/center has a good long-range shot, but he can also be a threat near the rim. With a very strong bouncing, last year he played in Greece with the A.G.O Rethymno Aegean, with an average of 12.3 points and 8.8 rebounds.

Career:

The youngest of five children, Mouhammad Faye spent his university years between the Georgia Institute of Technology and the Southern Methodist University, where he started to be noticed in the NCAA thanks to his numerous skills. When he completed his studies and after the 2010 Summer League season with the Dallas Mavericks, he joined the D-League at Rio Grande Valley. He played 55 games with the Vipers totaling 10.7 points (52.3% of two-pointers and 37.2% of three-pointers), 5.8 rebounds, 1.3 assists in 25.7 minutes. The following year (2011-2012), he landed in Europe for the first time, enrolled by the French Hyeres-Toulon. He closed the season with good results: 12 points and 5 rebounds in 30.7 minutes on average. Then, he moved to Greece where, in three years, he played with Ikaros Kallitheas (10 points and 7.5 rebounds), Panelefsiniakos AOK Eleusina (13.5 points and 7.6 rebounds) and A.G.O Rethymno Aegean (12.3 points and 8.8 rebounds).



Mouhammad Faye is also a star of the Senegalese National Team, with which he won the bronze medal at the 2013 FIBA AfroBasket.
