VARESE-CREMONA: THE PRESS ROOM

Coach Paolo Moretti after the Openjobmetis Varese–Vanoli Cremona match:

“Here we are, tired and fatigued, but obviously happy to have brought home the two points, because otherwise the classification would have become very complicated. We fielded a desire to keep the game in our hands, despite the difficulties, and I congratulate the boys for playing the extra time with great intensity. The match was very hard and required physicality for its entirety—the addition of Kangur was very positive because of his tremendous experience. We got into trouble in attack when things didn’t go well, and Cremona played well to take advantage. For my part, I can say that I have yet to find the formula to put the players’ heads, hearts and energy on court at the same time. Tonight, however, we gave it our best shot in the first 20 minutes —we will continue to work with our heads held low. This is now our primary goal—to find a way to play as we did in the first two quarters to allow each player to give the best of himself.”
