"BASKETBALL: A SCHOOL OF LIFE" - 14th EDITION

With great pride, Openjobmetis Varese Basketball, renews its commitment this year to promoting the values of basketball and sport in schools by once again starting the project, ‘Basketball: a school of life’, now in its 14th edition.

The Openjobmetis Varese Basketball initiative, sponsored by FIP, CONI and Varese Council begins again with a strong comeback from last year in which there were more than 2,500 boys involved from across the province.

The project is made possible thanks to the contributions of TEVA and Brother Italia, Top Sponsors of the Red & Whites club, and publicised in local schools by the Varese Regional Educational Authority. Behind the scenes, there has always been an objective to promote basketball, a sport that is the symbol of our city and that has made the name of Varese in Italy and in Europe.

This year, Varese Basketball celebrates its 70th anniversary and is further enhancing the initiative with the invaluable support of the Italian School of Life and Corporate Coaching.

The players and supervisors, trained by humanist coaches, will witness the importance of sport in children’s development. ‘Basketball: sport as a training ground for the pursuit of happiness, passion and self-realisation’ is the slogan that the students will carry with them and explore from primary to secondary schools.

Given the high degree of approval in the proposed activities, the blueprint of the project with its main categories of implementation remains the same.
