‘RAISING VARESE’, AN INNOVATIVE PROJECT FOR THE YOUNG RED & WHITES

The youth sector of Varese Basketball launches ‘Raising Varese’, a new and exciting project dedicated to its boys that will focus on the priorities of athletes to help them grow as players and as people.

In addition to the innovative ‘coaching’ proposal attended to by Domenico Giordano, teacher at the Italian School of Life & Corporate Coaching, athletes of the Under 18 team, coached by Andrea Meneghin, Andrea Triacca and Alessandro Grati, the youth sector of Varese Basketball with the assistance of the ‘Raising Varese’ project, will provide children of all levels, who are from out of town, with a bus to get to training sessions, which will be an aid to their sporting and personal development. This will be economic and logistical support to the families of the athletes. In addition, players most deserving during the year who demonstrate their abilities on and off court will receive scholarships. This ambitious project will put the focus on the individual and his personal growth.

The initiative of the youth sector of Varese Basketball will finance itself partly through Triboom, a crowdfunding system dedicated to sport, through which fans will be able to take centre stage by supporting the young Red & Whites.

“My history helps you understand how much I care about these young people -says Massimo Ferraiuolo, coordinator of the youth centre and the mini Red & Whites-. ‘Raising Varese’ is an initiative in which I strongly believe and it can definitely become an opportunity to grow for Varese Basketball. We are looking to invest, to seek significant resources to launch new projects for this to become a source of merit and pride for the club. Helping to turn boys into both great players and men is definitely our goal and I thank all those people who would like to take an interest and help us out.”

“We are proud to support a company as important and historical as Varese Basketball with the ‘Raising Varese’ project -says CEO of Triboom, Alfonso Stefanelli-. And we are happy to do this within a project that aims to improve young athletes and the nursery of the club. This initiative is perfectly in line with the philosophy of Triboom, which is to support teams in enhancing their inner potential through active involvement at all levels - management, players and fans.”

Triboom (www.triboom.com) is the first crowdfunding platform dedicated to the world of sport, through which sports teams can rally the fans and launch campaigns of collective financing for team projects. Launched in March of 2015 in Padua by a team led by former basketball player Alfonso Stefanelli, Triboom was established with the intention of ambitiously revolutionising the concept of supporting sport, combining the passion of fans, players and officials and new digital technologies, with the aim of activating a channel of direct financing that starts with the support base of the club. Using the platform, fans can show their support by donating money to projects launched by their favourite team and, in return, receive token and material rewards such as customised game jerseys and balls, signed by team champions, participation in special events, and dedicated services within the building.
