Pallacanestro Varese is glad to announce that the engagement of Giancarlo Ferrero as a player has now been finalized. Born in 1988 and known as forward in Italy, Ferrero has signed a contract that will bind him to the white and red team for the next two seasons.

Grown up at Casale Monferrato, Ferrero made his name in the Amateur A league in the 2008/09 season as one of the best players in the championship with an average of 20.2 points. In the following season, he went back to Junior Casale and conquered a historical position in the Serie A. Then, he stayed in Piedmont until 2013 except for a short period with the white and blue team of Bologna in the LegaDue. In the last two seasons, he was a protagonist in the A2 series with Trapani, closing the year with an average of 8.8 points and 38.2% of three-pointers. A small forward with explosive athletic skills, Giancarlo Ferrero loves to shoot directly from dribbling without designing his throws from outside.
