NIKOLIC MAKES HISTORY: HE IS THE 11TH PLAYER TO SCORE ON AT LEAST 11 SHOTS WITHOUT A MISS IN SERIE A

Against BC Roma, Stefan Nikolic made all 11 of his field goal attempts—7 two-pointers and 4 three-pointers—finishing with 28 points, 6 rebounds, and a player rating of 35 in Openjobmetis Varese’s 110-103 overtime victory. His only miss of the night was a free throw: he went 2-for-3 from the line.

Since the 1987–88 season in Serie A, a player has made at least 11 field goals without missing a single shot only 11 times. Leading this special list are Darryl Dawkins and DaShaun Wood, both of whom made 13 out of 13 field goal attempts, albeit with different shot distributions: the first, on January 13, 1991, while playing for Auxilium Torino in a 93-112 loss to S.Clear Cantù, made 13 of 13 two-pointers, scoring a total of 32 points and going 6-for-6 from the free-throw line; the second, on January 20, 2008, was the star of Tisettanta Cantù’s 105-89 victory over Capo d’Orlando, finishing with 8-for-8 from two-point range and 5-for-5 from three-point range, totaling 39 points and a rating of 54-

Close behind, with 12 baskets made on 12 attempts, are Zeljko Rebraca and Tyrone Grant. On December 30, 1995, Rebraca scored 25 points in the game between Benetton Treviso and Olitalia Forlì, which ended 97–104. The latter, on April 15, 2004, contributed 27 points to Teramo’s decisive 115–85 victory over Messina.

Seven players, on the other hand, have managed to finish a game with 11 baskets without a single miss. In addition to Nikolic, Renato Villalta had previously scored 25 points on 11-for-11 shooting—including 10 two-pointers and one three-pointer—in Knorr Bologna’s 95-86 victory over Hitachi Venezia on November 23, 1988. The same perfect shooting performance was achieved by Michele Mian, who scored 25 points on 8-for-8 from two-point range and 3-for-3 from beyond the arc in Gorizia’s 78-62 victory over Reggio Emilia on February 14, 1999. On March 2, 2014, it was Jeff Brooks’ turn; he contributed 25 points to Caserta’s 76-57 victory over Avellino, finishing 11-for-11 from the field, including three three-pointers. On January 26, 2015, DeQuan Jones scored 26 points on a perfect 11-for-11 shooting performance, including three three-pointers, in Cantù’s 91-83 win over Varese.

Rounding out the list are Tyrique Jones and Ed Croswell. On October 6, 2021, Jones scored 24 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in Pesaro’s 74-61 victory over Trieste, shooting 11-for-11 from the field and 2-for-2 from the free-throw line. Finally, on March 29, 2026, Croswell scored 24 points in just 21 minutes, making all 11 of his shots, in the game between Treviso and Sassari, which ended 108–103.

Stefan Nikolic is therefore the first Varese player on the list, since the previous best flawless game by a Varese player was Tyler Cain’s 10-for-10 performance against Capo d’Orlando (82–58, December 10, 2017), with 22 points and 14 rebounds. Before that, there were Bryant Dunston’s 9-for-9 performance against Biella in 2012 and Daniel Santiago’s 9-for-9 against Roma in 2000.
