Comments from Giannis Kastritis ahead of Dolomiti Energia Trentino-Pallacanestro Openjobmetis Varese:
«After so many days, we were finally able to give our players a day off—they certainly needed it. Yesterday and today we got back to training, and I have to say I’ve seen great energy, enthusiasm, and a willingness to keep working. Against Trento, we’ll have to be extremely prepared and focused on matching the energy they’ll bring to the court; their main strengths are their ability to run and grab offensive rebounds: so we’ll need to stay focused and do our absolute best to limit them in those two areas. There will certainly be some adjustments, both on offense and defense, as is always the case before every game depending on the opponent we’re facing. Obviously, we’re sorry about Della Valle’s injury, just as we would be for any of our players. In his case, it’s even harder to take, considering the kind of person he is and how hard he’d worked to come back. Having to face another setback is difficult first and foremost for him, then for us, and for the whole team. This, however, is the situation, and we must face it with a positive attitude. We’ll all work together to help him recover and return to the court with the team. Right now, we need patience: we’ll do everything possible to support him and guide him through this process. What about the situation in the BCL? We have to take it one step at a time. We have a league game coming up, and our full attention must be on the matchup against Trento. Next week we won’t have any cup games, so we’ll be able to focus on our next LBA game. When the time comes to think about the BCL, we’ll do so».
