Pallacanestro Varese and the City of Varese unite against gender-based violence

Pallacanestro Varese and the City of Varese are officially joining forces to combat gender-based violence.

A four-year memorandum of understanding was signed yesterday morning, formalizing the sports club’s membership in the RIV Network (Interinstitutional Anti-Violence Network) — Prevention and Awareness Section.
The agreement was officially signed by Antonio Bulgheroni, President of Pallacanestro Varese, and Rossella Di Maggio, Councilor for Educational Services for the City of Varese.

The agreement aims to use sports as an educational tool to promote a culture of respect, equality, and nonviolence through communication campaigns, events, and educational initiatives for athletes and fans.

This step builds on a path already embarked upon by the red-and-white club. Pallacanestro Varese has, in fact, actively participated in the “Trama” project, which culminated on March 16 with the release of an exclusive awareness-raising video shared on the club’s channels. At today’s signing ceremony, the special basketballs used to film the video were also donated as a tangible symbol of this shared commitment.
